The town of Stoneham was without a youth football program for over a decade until Pop Warner made its return in 2002. The program continued to grow and in 2009, Stoneham Youth Football and Cheer (SYFC) was

re-incorporated and re-chartered as an associate member of the Northeast Conference Youth Football League (NECYFL). The NECYFL is affiliated with American Youth Football, which is a "Grade Based, Age Protected" youth football league. In 2014 SYFC joined the newly founded

Commonwealth Youth Football Conference (CYFC), also affiliated with American Youth Football, as a charter member, moving the program closer to home. We are proud to offer every child in our community an equal opportunity to play youth football and cheer. In 2019, a merger between the CYFC and the NECYFL took place, which created Northeast Commonwealth Youth Football and Cheer (NECYFC).
